Our family's passion for area rugs started in 1917 when A. Leon Capel introduced our very first braided rug. More than 90 years later, Capel Braids-American Originals are still crafted in our North Carolina mills with the finest wool, cotton, and performance blend fibers. In later years the need for a more diverse product line grew, and Capel Rugs responded by offering imported collections.
